Carol June Boughton

Carol June Boughton, 80, wife of Harold Gordon Boughton, died Saturday, June 2, 2018. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William and Gladys Jump Nichols and mother of the late Gordon James Boughton. Carol received her associates degree in music from Akron University. She had worked as an administrative assistant at the University of Georgia in the late 70's and most recently at Athens First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Princeton United Methodist Church where she served as choir director. Survivors in addition to her husband include three children: Jeannie (David) Cheek of Watkinsville, Gary William (Ella) Boughton of California and Gregory Alan (Lisa) Boughton of Sussex, NJ; brothers; William Nichols of Chardon Falls, OH, John Nichols of Akron, OH; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 11AM at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, June 4, 2018 from 6 until 8 at Lord & Stephens West.
