Daniel Coyle

Daniel Matthew Joseph Coyle, 80, died April 20, 2022. Born on July 5th, 1941, in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late William P. Coyle and Catherine Corliss Coyle. Daniel was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He proudly served in the US Air Force (1962-1966), attaining the rank of Airman Second Class. He then devoted his professional life to advancing the practice of physical therapy, building some of the earliest of such departments at hospitals in the mid-west. Moving to Oconee County with his beloved family in 1991, he brought his passion for his patients’ care directly to their homes, providing home healthcare to those in need throughout the northeast Georgia community for over twenty years. He was preceded in death by two bothers, William and Michael. Survivors include his four children: Julie (Timothy) Thompson, Lori McNaught, Meghan Coyle, Gregory (Nicole) Coyle; sisters Lillian and Theresa; and seven grandchildren: Cali, Jason, John, Nicholas, Trevor, Brielle and Samara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Day, May Date, 2022 at 10:30AM at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Josephs Catholic Church, Athens, GA. Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, Watkinsville, GA is in charge of arrangements.
