Merle L. Cole

Merle L. Cole, 94, of Watkinsville, died Thursday, August 30, 2018. She was born in Cochran, GA to the late Homer C. Lister and Willie Belle (Sanders) Lister. Ms. Merle retired from Robbins Air Force Base where she worked as a clerk typist for 30 years. She enjoyed cooking and doing needlework.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Howard B. Cole Sr., and George Scarborough, and her son, Howard B. Cole Jr. She is survived by her son, Don Scarborough (Mabel), sister, Ronda Young, grandchildren, Cherie Miller (Scott) and Scott Cole (Casey), four step-grandchildren, a step-great grandchild, and several great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Oconee Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary’s Hospice House.
